WEEKLY NARRATIVE

The amount of meetings this week was insane, but I love the changes that came out of them. The story changes from last week changed a lot about our design and aesthetic in turn. We're definitely going for a more emotional experience, and also moving further away from creepy horror vibes to the strange and ethereal. Even the amount of the hospital that exists currently is going to give way into much larger, less hospital themed areas. This is going to create a much more diverse variety of visuals, which I'm super excited about. There will be a Library area, a Void Garden, and a much more ethereal aesthetic for the center wing involving an Information Shrine and Tree-House like Observation Deck. We've gone into the reasons those fit into the story, and fleshed them out in those regards. We've also been looking at new less-blue-monotone color schemes, ways of visually portraying the finer details of the story without cut-scenes, and a better, faster art style to support how large our new areas are.

POSITIVE OUTCOMES

  • Finally got enough confirmed with area design that we can start doing concept art.
  • The art style we've decided on is flexible, fast changing, and lets us crank out assets quickly.
  • Art Tasks are in progress/have been divvied out and modeling is also happening. 
  • All "Next Tasks" from last week got completed or mostly completed! 


NEGATIVE OUTCOMES

  • Still a bit worried about the scope of these new areas
  • Has been slow to get to this point 
  • Need to be documenting more animation needs 


NEXT TASKS

Crank out several concepts and color schemes in use for these new areas, as well as a couple examples of new orthos.
