Daniel Shalala | PPJ Week 2: Storytime

WEEKLY NARRATIVE

This week we were able to solve one of the largest problems that plagued our game, the story. I was tasked with deciding what the accident that put our games main character, Rem, in the hospital in the first place. I am glad to say that everyone accepted what I had come up with without problem. So when we think about it we have a story, while its not fully flushed out, we have the major beats taken care of. The other things that I spent my time occupied with this week was the design meetings. While the process took longer than I wanted or hoped, we have a solid idea for how this is going to move forward, which is wonderful news. Moving forward however, we need to find a way to quicken the process, because people become bogged down in the tar pits of critique and debate. 



CONTENT WITH HOURS

  • Design meeting (3 hours)
  • Compiling story Ideas (1.5 hours)
  • Producer meeting (1 Hour)
  • General group meeting (2 hours)




POSITIVE OUTCOMES

  • The story has been decided upon and accepted by everyone
  • Design Meetings have been very productive
  • Everyone continues to be very driven in their respective tasks

NEGATIVE OUTCOMES

  • We are plagued with interruptions and tangents during these meetings
  • Unhelpful criticism has been discovered and needs to be addressed
  • Everyone has very strong and passionate beliefs about what they must, and because of this people are less willing to compromise.

NEXT TASKS

We need to discuss what the next enemy is, as well as the next
