Look At All These Bugs!
Joe Lipinski | Week 3: Look At All These Bugs!
WEEKLY NARRATIVE
This week was relatively simple in terms of programming tasks. So not too much to report unfortunately. Because of the original lack of initial tasking I set out to find some way to make our Trello more fluid. Turns out there is a bot for Discord that you can link up to you're boards and then create webhooks so that when a card is created a channel can be messaged with an update (this still needs to be implemented). In addition the bot will allow boards/lists to be viewed directly from discord. Once programmers were actually tasked with fixing bugs, partnered with Utkarsh and Tin to fix part of the memento's behavior. In addition to this I attended our weekly meeting to get updated on the state of the game and design.
CONTENT WITH HOURS
- Trello bot for discord WIP (2 hours)
- Perforce installation and setup (1.5 hours)
- Game meeting (1 hour)
- Debugging with Utkarsh and Tin (2 hours)
WORKFLOW EXAMPLES
POSITIVE OUTCOMES
- Trello Bots gonna be sick (when it's finished)
- Debugging was simple! (Thank god)
NEGATIVE OUTCOMES
- Perforce initial frustrations (mostly quelled)
NEXT TASKS
Finish implementation of the trello bot to discord so that when new bugs are found. A trello card creation will alert the channel and signal programmers to start working. Since game mechanics have shifted dramatically, programmers such as myself will be implementing such behaviors throughout the week.
TOTAL HOURS LOGGED THIS WEEK: 6.5 hours
