Chris Lucas | Week 6: Like a Planning Mini-game, but in VR

Chris Lucas | Week 6: Like a Planning Mini-game, but in VR

WEEKLY NARRATIVE

I had planned to do Mocap this week in addition to everything else, when some pretty exciting but disorienting news came out of nowhere during the middle of the week. Suddenly I was going to IndieCade to talk to Oculus about publishing an old class project, and that team started scrambling to get everything ready. It was an amazing experience, but also meant I didn't get Mocap done, and also that work got pushed to crunch during the weekend. During that crunch though, I got the lobby through a first couple aesthetic passes, which was high priority as a central hub and visual room for the game, as well as the shrine modeled. I also got most of the hospital levels new and old recolored so that impassible walls are more obvious, lowered railings, and checked sizes of objects against Rem, etc. Jimmy helped increase the workflow speed of texturing with gradients by at least 5000x so shout out to him.
