Joe Lipinski | Week 5: Go Birds!
WEEKLY NARRATIVE
This week I meet with Utkarsh in order to change the dash and portal code to match our new interface that had been coded. One of the issues that we faced during this process was the mess of code that originally handled dashing. It has all been ported to its own script and will cleaned in the coming weeks to be more readable and reasonable. Utkarsh finished the code separately and I then reviewed his changes. In addition to programming, I also go two playtesters and had them take our survey. Mike had also tasked me with compiling a list of sound effects that would be necessary (so far) for our game. I made a first pass and have given the subsequent list to Nathan Adrian. John also asked me to see if our music producer could make a glissando sound effect as a trail. The 1 minute loop was made and has been passed to the design team for more feedback and considerations.CONTENT WITH HOURS
- Playtesting (1 hour)
- Sound list researching (2 hours)
- Debugging with Utkarsh (4 hours)
- Sound work (1 hour)
WORKFLOW EXAMPLES
POSITIVE OUTCOMES
- I was able to get both my housemates to playtest
- Putting together the sound list will give us more assets so we can juice up our game
- Got to go to the Eagles Parade
NEGATIVE OUTCOMES
- Implementing the interface took longer than expected
- None from this class (stressed for midterms tho)
NEXT TASKS
