WEEKLY NARRATIVE
As in tradition of me liking cats and birds being the hot topic, here are owls with cat heads.
So, this week it was a weird week. I mean, every week is weird.
This week we had a long conversation about abilities that are going to be implemented into the game. Thus the design team set some requirements.
Corwin assigned tasks to us and we worked on the abilities as separated scripts (So that we didn't all clog onto PlayerController.cs).
I worked on the "SPECTRAL WALL", spooky name. My initial deployment didn't meet what the design had in mind because I lacked information.
As soon as all the information was sent, I fixed it.
I also took that annoying bug with the mouse not locking in the screen.
Then I grabed random tasks that Corwin said that if anyone wanted to do a 5-10 minute work, they could.
Then the eagles won and chaos fell.
CONTENT WITH HOURS
- 2 hours - meeting
- 3 hours - Spectral Walls
- 30 minutes - mouse lock and scene back button
- 30 minutes - bug fixing memento
WORKFLOW
That's a wall that the screenie can't see/walk through but you can.
- I GOT TO MAKE AN ABILITY FROM SCRATCH.
- I GOT RID OF THE MOST ANNOYING PART OF THE GAME, THE CURSOR LEAVING THE SCREEN.
Negative outcome
- We had an extensive and hot discussion with the design team about what would be implemented into the game.
- For example, I said that there was not enough environment challenges in the library.
- Fact, but the design team would manage that scenario by doing some level design implementations.
Next Tasks
Probably bug fixes between the abilities and the stamina bar.
Implement more mechanics.
And whatever the leads tell me to code.
Total hours: 6 hours
