WEEKLY NARRATIVE
This week I worked on fixing the existing x-ray level design based on Tony Rowe's critiques. This includes taking out the double doors on the top left of the floor plan and spacing out the level more to be less claustrophobic. I also started working on level designs for the library. In my design I wanted to work on a nice stair structure that other micro level designs can split off from. This way the player can generally know where their goal is per floor. From these designs we can add level designs from Matt N., and other level designers interested in adding to the library level design.
CONTENT WITH HOURS
- Fixing the x-ray level design (2 hours)
- Creating a multi-floor library level design (1 hour)
- Design meeting (2 hours)
- Team meeting (1 hour)
WORKFLOW EXAMPLES
The new Design for the x-ray level
POSITIVE OUTCOMES
- An X-ray level that is more logical and spaced out more for the player
- A layout for a library that can easily plug in new micro level designs
NEGATIVE OUTCOMES
- I was very busy with other classes this week, so I didn't have much time for Remembrance this week.
NEXT TASKS
Next week I want to work on more library level designs to build off my existing library level design. As it exists now it is a little half baked, and needs to be fleshed out more.
